About the Organization
Larry and Elizabeth Bergeron founded the organization on the principles that because children matter to God they should matter to us. The Old and New Testaments clearly detail the Father's love for children and especially the fatherless, the orphaned and the poor. As a result, A Child's Hope International, Inc. was formed to give glory to the Father by caring for the least of these (Matthew 25:31-46).
Larry and Wendy have been married for 34 years and have 7 children (from ages 31 to 4) and 3 grand children. Two of their children have been adopted. They believe that all children are treasures given to us only for a season and as a blessing from the Lord.
Larry last served as the Lead Pastor for Hope Church in Mason. OH where he founded the Hope for the Children adoption ministry in 2005. Prior to that, he served as the Executive Pastor of Calvary Church in Trumbull, CT.
During his 3 year tenure at Hope Church, over 20 children were adopted from Hope Church and area families through the Hope for the Children program. In addition, an adoption fund was started to assist families within Hope Church and the community. It was during this time, that the dream for a coalition of churches was birthed. Some of the details of Hope for the Children and the vision that today is A Child's Hope International, Inc. was captured by a TV interview with Courtis Fuller on WLVT in Cincinnati, OH on May 15, 2007.
